Hi Mike,

Thanks for taking the time to keep us all connected -- I know it can be a lot of work.

Just read the roster and the next time you update it please change my rate to AG3 -- I'm listed as RDSN.

Thanks,

Bob

Sorry to hear this. He was a good guy. He was always teasing Vince Greco about how the Greeks owned all the good restaurants. If we ever get a reunion we should invite his son.

Lamar Senn I believe you an I served on the Pillsbury at the same time. I went back to newport about 1996. Did not recognize it at all. Goat Island now has a bridge and a hospital on it. I saw the mast of one navy ship sticking above a huge wherehouse at that facility up the river from downtown, that we used to tie up at next to the tender. I was a naval reservist on the Pillsbury from about sept. 1958 thru to her decommisioning in june 1960. IF I remember right you were the one that hooked the big shark on one of the pickets. Then we hauled it up on deck and strung it up on the gun mount

Hi Mike, et al:

Happy New Year!
This maybe the year of my retirement??? Last year was a challenge with travel (Taiwan, S. Korea, China, Germany, Chile, Germany again, and Switzerland) plus other assignments. I am getting a little tired. Almost made it to St. Louis, but the cousins wedding was canceled.
I have gathered the 35mm slides that I took while serving in the USN. Most of them (99%) are while on the USS Pillsbury. As soon as these are placed on a CD, I will forward a CD to your attention for your entry onto the web page that you manage well beyond expectations. You may wish to enter all or only some. There are about 180 plus images. Some images are better than others. Keep in mind that I was a young pure novice and weatherman.
It has been nearly three years since my surgery for cancer. I am not out of the woods as of yet, but remain hopeful. I want to especially thank Gerald Jenkins for talking to me and providing encouragement to go through that event. Thanks again "Mr. Jenkins." I wish to Thank All who provided positive vibes, I did fell the wishes.
Need to eat supper.

Best regards,,,Bob

Hi to all of my dads shipmates. I am the daughter of Carl Craig "Sarge" Hallowell,TM2. I would be interested in hearing from anyone that knew him. He passed away on Jan 8, 1987 of cancer in Miami, FL. He is burried at Bay Pines National Cemetary in St Petersburg. I have been researching his Navy days. I was so happy to find his name on the ships roster. If you knew him I would be happy to hear from you. Any stories, memories or pictures you may have of him are welcome.

Thank You Julene (Hallowell) Phillis
